Saturday, October 25--Tijuana Mexico--Dania Wins Again!
Dania's Armendariz and Osa defeated Miami's Juanito and Jackie in the final partido of Caliente Jai-alai's 1997 Torneo Internacional De Las Americas in Tijuana, Mexico.  Final score 30-19.  This marks the 3 straight year Dania has captured the Tijuana trophy.

Monday, October 20--Tijuana Mexico--Dania Wins! 30 Point Partido, DANIA/TAMPA Qualifying round in the Tournament of the Americas.

Saturday, October 18--Tijuana, Mexico--Dania Wins! 30 Point Partido, DANIA/MIAMI Qualifying round in the Tournament of the Americas.

Dania Jai-Alai's Atain and Uriarte defeated nine other world class teams to win this $150,000 tournament, jai-alai's richest prize money competition. Tournament games were played in Ft. Pierce, Miami, Tampa, Dania and Orlando.

Dania WINS! Tournament of the Americas
Saturday, October 12 - Dania Jai Alai's team of Gallardo-Cuvet defeated Mexico City, 30-26, winning the 5th Annual Torneo de las Americas in Tijuana, Mexico. The participating teams were from Dania, Miami, Tampa, Mexico City, Acapulco and Caliente. Gallardo and Cuvet will return to action at Dania on Tuesday, October 15.

Dania Rallies to Win Dania/Miami Summer Showdown
Dania Jai-Alai's team of Alberdi-Atain rallied from fifth place to take the 1996 Dania/Miami Summer Showdown championship. Alberdi-Atain won three of four games in the final round. Trailing by 31 points after the first round at Miami on Monday, the Dania duo scored 50 points to finish with 63 points and edge Miami's Txomin-Jackie, which finished second with 58 points.

Felix Wins Basque Doubles Championship.
Dania Jai-Alai backcourt star Felix, who is playing in Spain for the summer, teamed with Etchalus (who was a member of the French Olympic Team in 1992-Barcelona) to win El Campeonato de Euskadi de Cesta Punta (The Basque Doubles Championship Tournament) in Guernica, Spain. Last month, Dania Jai-Alai's Uriarte, won the The Basque Singles Championship.

Uriarte Wins Basque Singles Championship.Dania Jai-Alai star frontcourter Uriarte, aka Cachin, who is also playing in Spain this summer, added another trophy to his mantle by winning El Campeonato de Euskadi Individual de Cesta (The Basque Singles Championship) by the score of 25 to 13 in Guernica, Spain.

 For the third consecutive year Dania Jai-Alai teams won this tournament against teams from Florida, Mexico, and Connecticut. In 1996, Dania Jai-Alai's teams of Felix-Arriaga and Atain-Beheretche swept the evening, taking first and second place, respectively. In the frontcourt singles competition, Dania Jai-Alai's Arriaga won first place.
